With over 50 years of experience across industries and a vast network of over 100 sites worldwide, Jabil combines global reach with local expertise to deliver both scalable and customized solutions.
Our commitment extends beyond business success as we strive to build sustainable processes that minimize environmental impact and foster vibrant and diverse communities around the globe.
At Fira, we will present our optics division’s R&D projects, focusing on 3D cameras. We’ll showcase the world’s first SWIR Laser Triangulation Camera, based on 1370 nm illumination sources. This camera can capture either simultaneous flood and line illumination or sequenced illumination.
Discover 3D SWIR Camera, SWIR Laser Triangulation Camera:
3D SWIR Camera:
Jabil has developed a Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera prototype of an 1130nm illumination source and an image sensor capable of efficiently capturing photons at short-wavelength infrared (SWIR).
Compared to traditional 3D cameras, the high ambient light tolerance of the demonstrator allows it to seamlessly operate in both indoor and outdoor environments up to a range of 15m. With the increased operating range, ambient light tolerance, and higher laser eye safety threshold the demonstrator showcases a new paradigm for 3D sensor development.
World’s 1st SWIR Laser Triangulation Camera:
Historically, laser triangulation solutions have operated in the visible and NIR range. Visible lasers experience performance limitations in bright sunlight conditions. Additionally, the range and performance is limited by class 1 laser eye safe threshold standards. Jabils’ laser triangulation camera prototype is based on 1370 nm illumination sources.
The camera is capable of either simultaneous capture of flood illumination and line illumination or sequenced capture. The camera is mounted on a rail supporting a measurement range from 20cm to 1.5m. The size of the prototype is LxWxH: 290mm x 76mm x 150mm. The solution will support both Windows and Linux OS.
