Tensorfield builds Jetty – a fast, lightweight platform that kills weeds using thermal micro-jetting: small, targeted doses of superheated vegetable oil applied with sub-centimeter (~¼-inch) precision to weeds within the crop canopy. Jetty provides a non-chemical, no-contact alternative to herbicides and drastically reduces hand labor, making it suitable across conventional and organic operations. Jetty works with low and high-density crop spacing, and its low weight minimizes bed deformation, even in damp furrows. While working, Jetty also collects per-plant data, and continuously learns while it works. Tensorfield’s approach combines robotics, computer vision, agronomy and micro-jetting to kill weeds and lay the groundwork for plant-by-plant control in agriculture.
