Helle Petersen is the Regional Director of Local Food and Farm Innovation at the University of California, Agricultural and Natural Resources. She is overseeing the Local Farm and Food Innovation where she is focused in supporting local farms and food businesses, particularly those that are small-scale and underserved, and ensuring that local food systems have access to innovations and resources. Prior to her current position, Helle served as the director of the Water, Energy, and Technology Center at California State University, Fresno, where she was instrumental in establishing a regional innovation cluster and frameworks to support technology startups and innovators in the water, ag and energy space. Helle holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the Technical University of Denmark and an MBA from California State University, Fresno, and resides in Fresno with her family.
