About Yakima County Development Association

Yakima County Development Association (YCDA) is the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Associate Development Organization (ADO) serving Yakima County. As the county’s lead economic development organization, YCDA works to strengthen the regional economy by supporting business retention and expansion, attracting new businesses and investment, developing workforce solutions, and connecting businesses with resources and strategic partners.

Through direct business engagement and regional partnerships, YCDA helps identify industry needs, address barriers to growth, and create opportunities for innovation and investment. YCDA focuses its efforts on Yakima County’s five key industries: agribusiness, aerospace, healthcare and medical, logistics and distribution, and manufacturing.

As a co-organizer of FIRA USA, YCDA brings together growers, agricultural leaders, technology developers, researchers, public agencies, and community partners. This collaboration supports the adoption of agricultural technology, showcases Yakima County as a leading agricultural region, and creates opportunities for businesses to build relationships, explore innovative solutions, and invest in the future of agriculture.

YCDA’s work is rooted in listening to local businesses, connecting partners and resources, creating responsive programs and strategies, and leading collaborative initiatives that generate meaningful economic opportunities throughout Yakima County.
