Doug Hartfield

Doug Hartfield is the Agricultural Safety Technical Specialist for the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. He is available for rule interpretation, variance applications, “how-to” questions, and would be happy to come visit your facility to address any safety concerns or look at new methods and machinery, without worry of citations.
Doug has a Master’s in Public Health and is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist. He has spent his career in Public Health between Washington and Texas, focused on Worker Safety, inspections of and education in Food Service, Pools, Schools, Youth Camps, Mass Gatherings, Transient Accommodations, and Temporary Farmworker Worker Housing, in addition to serving during Emergency and Incident Response activities in both states. His current role involves all things related to Agriculture Safety, including helping stakeholders and the public understand the language and intent of safety and health regulations.
