Andrew Nelson is a fifth-generation farmer and CEO of Nelson Farms, Inc., a 7,500-acre dryland grain operation in the Palouse region of eastern Washington. His farm produces wheat, canola, peas, lentils, and garbanzo beans, with a strong focus on using technology to improve productivity, efficiency, and decision-making.
Andrew is also the Chief Innovation Officer of AgAnswers.ai, where he helps shape and develop AI-powered tools for agriculture. With a background in software architecture, he brings the perspective of both a technologist and a working farmer who evaluates new technology based on whether it creates meaningful value in real-world farm operations.
He also serves on the Washington Chapter Board of The Nature Conservancy and is an active advocate for practical applications of automation, precision agriculture, AI, and data-driven decision-making in farming.
